I only wish that I could entertain you,
Hold your attention just long enough,
Hunting inside your heart for a laugh or two.
That's the way to try and win over your affection,
To keep your eyes gazing in my direction,
I feel like a young teen desperate for your attention.
I would rather dance around like a clown,
And turn that defeating frown around,
Than be swept down river only to drown.
Humiliation is a small price to have to pay,
As open and vulnerable as I could possibly be,
So long as I was yours at the end of the day.
